Welcome to the re-titled She Found Beauty newsletter! 83% of those who responded to my poll a week ago voted to add back in “Beauty” and seeing as how that was already resonating with me, I’m doing it!
And wow, are all signs pointing to it being the right call. Since putting that poll out into the universe I have come across a few things that point towards “beauty” being something that I am naturally drawn to in my life. I realize that might sound obvious, like of course, aren’t all people drawn to beauty but I am understanding more and more how much of a role it plays in my life on so many levels. One of the fun things that I happened upon was in an astrology description of my birth chart on the Chani app (as I say in #2 below, I love anything that tells me about myself - ha!). Here is a screenshot of the description that struck me (the “beauty” part is at the end):
And along the lines of fun things, here are 5 articles that made me smile, say “a-ha!”, or shake my head at the way the universe brings things back around sometimes:
(1) I Regret Almost Everything
The WSJ published a fascinating brief snippet from this just released book by the founder of Pastis and Balthazar, my bucket list restaurant I finally got to eat at this year. It’s now on my list of books to read. (from WSJ)
(2) My Creative Type
Who doesn’t love a personality quiz? I know I am endlessly captivated by the legitimate (and not-so-legitimate) quizzes that I come across telling me about myself. For example, I’m an Enneagram 9 AND I would be in Gryffindor house at Hogwarts 😆
Well I came across another fun quiz that tells you what your Creative type is. It’s a quiz created by Adobe and if nothing else, the graphics are really cool as you go through and answer questions. I found some of the questions challenging to narrow down an answer for but I overall it was fun. I ended up being a “Guide.” Hey, I’ll take it!
(apologies for the formatting of the images below. I tried changing the aspect ratio and messed them up permanently)
If you take the quiz, let me know what you are!
(3) Perks of Being a Late Bloomer
If you’ve read a lot of my posts, you may recognize that I’ve always been a bit of a late bloomer. I didn’t have an actual boyfriend until college and even then it was a bit convoluted if we were actual boyfriend/girlfriend. I didn’t find my perfect job until my early 30’s (and then sadly, it disappeared). I got married and had kids as late as one can. You get the picture.
So I was absolutely tickled to find this article. It made me feel so much better. And interestingly enough, in my most recent spirit guide session with Renee Spears, she told me that my 2nd half of life was MY time. Like, it’s my time of life to shine. Let’s get this party started, shall we?!
(4) The light that shines from us all
This article made me so happy. I have always felt that there was something invisible but powerful that dissipates into the ether when we die. I personally believe that it’s our energetic spirit and I do believe that that spirit floats around us when it’s from loved ones who have passed. I know, I’m getting woo woo again but it’s how I’ve felt after experiencing heart-wrenching loss and seeing how dull a dead body is compared to an alive one. Perhaps that spirit is our personal, invisible glow as described in the article above from Popular Mechanics.
Not to get gloomy. On the contrary, I find it comforting. I don’t know, a scientific study about our own personal light just makes me smile.
(5) What Now with Trevor Noah - the ADHD episode
For those of you who know me or who know people in your life who have been diagnosed with one of the three types of ADHD, this episode is for you. While the area of ADHD is giant and the way it affects people is very individual, this interview gives such a great description of what is going on in the bodies and minds of us people who you love but who also drive you batty. (Note to my husband….listen to the WHOLE episode 😉)
That’s a wrap on this Friday 5. I hope you have a great weekend! As always, thanks for reading!
TGIF!
XO,
E
